where else could you find a church

crazy storm rolled in
a mates of state fan who
works in the mission
control room at
nasa
contacted jason
and asked if we'd like
a guided tour. we got to actually
go beyond the path of the standard
tours and walk inside
the spaceships and pods where
the astronauts study for 3-4 years before they
can go up to the space station.
pretty awesome!

which houses the mission control center
the architecture was very 60's/futuristic.
this was the actual
"houston, we have a problem"
mission control room
inside one of the pods that is an exact replica of
what is up in the space station.
the astronauts live inside these things for 6 months at a time.
thats as long as i'm currently living on a tour bus with 10
other people.
i have the option of getting off whenever i need too
and i'm barely making it.
i can't imagine the cabin fever they must experience.

the space shuttle.
the woman showing us around explained that they
save their urine up there and put it through
some process that converts it into
water.
they are currently working on another
process that will turn the rest
of their waste into
fuel!

way over my head.
but it was super cool to stand in the
and watch video of current
activity inside the space station.
